Pray for One Another

I am reminded of James 5:16 which reads in part  “…Pray one for another…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”  This is one of several places in the Word we are exhorted to pray for one another.  Let us also begin to spend special time as the Lord leads us in times of private and corporate prayer for our week of Camp Meeting this June 9-14.  Let us pray that the message of “holiness without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14) will be proclaimed with power and anointing of the blessed Holy Spirit.  Pray espcially for our workers:

October 2012 Call to Prayer

As I write my article on prayer for the IHA Web page, I have just experienced a special financial blessing from the Lord, and I am impressed to challenge all of us in the IHA family with this question: Are we expecting too little from our majestic Lord concerning the ministry of IHA?

As I consider that question, I am reminded of the Ephesian passage that says, “Now unto Him that is  able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20). What comes to mind immediately after that is how God granted more to Solomon than he had asked for, as we read in 1 Kings 3:13: “And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honor…”  And the recepient of those added blessings has written, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18).

As one of the great holiness teachers of our day has said, “If the message of entire sanctification is correct (and it is), let us proclaim and promote it with all that is within us; if not, let us abandon it.” (Richard S. Taylor)

So let us offer the fervent prayer of a righteous people for the effective ministry of the IHA in the sanctification of believers from every corner of our state and beyond, from every church regardless of name and affiliation, from every race and nationality, from the young and the old. “Without holiness no man will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).  Holiness is for everyone who will believe!
